How Milkcraft saved us on our Trip

AN UNFORGETTABLE TRIP

I am penning down a beautiful experience I had last year. I am Akshay and am a Globetrotter. Working in an MNC software company has already taken me to over 30 countries and I made sure to have good adventurous memories from those countries. Last year, I was married to Sakshi. It was an arranged marriage. Unlike myself, she enjoys the coziness of home and remains reluctant to travel. We are friends with a couple, Gunjan & Rishi, who likes to trek and go on adventurous journeys.

An unforgettable trip

This incident was from last year. It had been a month since our marriage and Sakshi was all caring so far but I was really missing my trips. That day, Rishi called me up and he asked to go on a trip to the beautiful Ratnagiri Hills closer to the Ocean. This will be our first couple trip, all we had to convince Sakshi. She treated trips and adventures as unnecessary efforts.

An unforgettable trip

The other night, I talked to Sakshi about the trip. At first, she hesitated a lot but I convinced her that Myself, Gunjan & Rishi had immense experience travelling and we will make sure, we will take care of her. We started packing for the trip. I listed her all the essentials required for an adventure trip. She was packing snacks and beverages for the trip. I saw she was packing some Wafers and a few bottles of her favourite Milkcraft Flavoured Milk. I smiled and said – “Sweetheart, the adventure is all about travelling with what’s required. We will cook right at the hills.” She understood that.

The other morning, we set off on our trip. We drove from Mumbai and crossing the highways and terrains finally reached the nearest village of our destination. We had to spend the night in a Motel and having parked our car in the motel had to set off for a trip walking towards the hills. We were supposed to be back to the motel on the following second day evening. It would be almost 36 hours and we had to make sure of our food and water bags. Gunjan had done the arrangement and showed the pans, lights, water, paneer, bread packs she packed along. It was a comforting sleep for us there.

An unforgettable trip

Next morning, we set on foot towards the hills closer to the sea shores. The nature was mesmerizing, the breeze was cold. We already started feeling the ocean in the wind. Around noon, we took a halt and cooked some paneer sandwiches. There was a stream nearby from where I had to fill water. Rishi went towards the stream to fill the bottles. After a while, we came empty handed with some bruises over his knees and elbows. He slipped over the stones and our bottles were flown in the stream.

It would be risky to travel further without water but Gunjan insisted that we may find some other water stream on our way ahead. So, we remained on our course and reached the top of the hill around evening. We fixed our tents and left the girls, myself and Rishi set to search water.

We searched for an hour but were unable to find any stream for water. We had our last drop of water six hours back. We were already parched and going back to our wives without water would be disappointing. Finding ourselves unfortunate enough, we got back to the tent. By that time, Sakshi and Gunjan had prepared a lovely meal. I was feeling heat that I was unable to deliver my promise to Sakshi that I will keep here safe and here we are with no water.

We broke the news that we have returned without water. Sakshi said -” Don’t worry, I have something which will quench our thirst”. It was so astonishing to hear from her. It was she who would panic. She opened her bag and gave us Milkcraft Flavoured milk. She explained she had space for 15-20 bottles even though I asked her not to. Sakshi is a life saver. We enjoyed our dinner in the open sky. Enjoyed the campfire with songs, music and games. This was memorable. Drinking Milkcraft was a sheer pleasure. Heavely, I said to sakshi.

An unforgettable trip

Next morning, we woke up in nature and had our breakfast before setting downhill to the motel back. Milkcraft had saved my trip. It stayed as my favourite drink till the day. All thanks to my wife, Sakshi.
